Latvia’s “RE Autoclub” pilot Gardmeister will face serious challenge in Russia’s “Silk Way”

RE Autoclub takes a new challange and from 15th till 18th of March will participate in World rally raid championship first stage in Pordenone region, Italy. This will be „Italian Baja” 19th edition. In 68 car crew big competition on the start line will be two RE Autoclub prepared cars: with one of them („Mitsubishi Pajero L2”) on the rally raid road for first time will participate „flying Finn” Toni Gardemeister.
Under the number 211 will go the new RE Autoclub crew driver from Finland Toni Gardemeister: „Driving in rally raid competitions will be the first time for me. Hopefully I will be able to control my car and finish with good results so that the crew would be satisfied.” Next to finnish driver will sit his new co-driver from Latvia Agris Petersons - he has participated in competitions in Latvia, Russia, Europe and in Dakar as well, together with President of Latvian Automobile federation - Janis Naglis. „Toni is driving very well, he is self-confident, I am not afraid at all! I feel safe sitting next to such a professional driver like Toni is,” after tests session in 333 sport complex says Agris Petersons.
From RE Autoclub under the number 242 on the race will participate car crew with russian drivers Aleksandr Terentyev and Aleksandr Terentyev junior. Also for them this will not be the first competitiona: in overall they have particepated in several rally raid stages in Latvia, Russia and Europe as well.
This year „Italian Baja” organizers have planed an interesting four stage race: in overall it will take 410 km long distance. The competition will start on 16th March afternoon with 11 km prolog and on the next day the competitors will face first rally raid stage „Tagliamento” - 81 km long distance.
