Russian racing team „Nart Time” in cooperation with latvian racing team „RE Autoclub” took part and successfully started in the 16th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique with four crews, accomplishing more than 1300 kilometers on the first day. First tasks of endurance has been successfully overcome, but the next serious task – icy and slippery mountain roads, already comes on a line. The finish of the rally will be achieved on 1st February in Monte-Carlo.
In the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique competitors competed in the skill to keep the previously self-settled average speed of the whole distance. The best result from the russian racing team „Nart Time” has a crew with Andrey Dmitriyev (pilot), which took a position Nr.155 in the rankings at the moment. The other crews – Ruslan Misikov (pilot) took a position Nr.161, and Alexander Terentyev (pilot) took a position Nr.169, driving with Triumph TR4 A IRS. The crew from latvian racing team ,,RE Autoclub” – with pilot Roberts Elbakjans / Edgars Trups – took a postion Nr.166.
„The organizers have prepared a hard task from the first meters – the first stage was more than 24 hours to drive nonstop. And even after this more than 24 hour drive we had no time to rest, because we had the next 400 kilometers on the run already”, says Roberts Elbakjans - the team director and latvian racing team ,,RE Autoclub” pilot. „But, despite this, I am satisfied as a team director, that all four cars prepared by ,,RE Autoclub”, succesfully overcome this first, hard stage”. ,,This is not a pleasure trip” – Roberts Elbakjans seriously admits. ,,The next stages also will be hard, because of the upcoming uphill drive on the snaky mountain roads in icy and slippery conditions”.
