„RE Autoclub” moskvitch with success passes Monte Carlo first day roads

Latvias team „RE Autoclub” crew Roberts Elbakjans and Alexander Terentyev junior with „Moskvitch 408” on Tuesdays evening succesfully reached first days finnish passing more than 1000km distance on Spain, Italy’s and Monaco roads. Many of other car crews had crashes, because of the snow covered mountain road serpentines. On Wednesday will be runned the next stage of 250 km long distance.

This is 15th Rallye Monte Carlo Historique with more than 300 car crews participating. In participant list you can find not only Elbakjans with „Moskvitch 408”, but four black „Volgas” as well.

„First stage, with total distance was 1080km, it took 24 hours to cross the finish line” explanes „RE Autoclub” director Roberts Elbakjans. „The mauntain roads were full of snow and in cleaning process was involved a lot of technique, but without incidents could not escape. Several cars took their finish on the roadside or on a rock walls or even they flipped on the other side with wheels on the top. It is a big loss for owners ‘couse these cars are exclusive cars. It is not common for historic cars to find some other copy from car and use it, like it is with „Moskvitch 408”.

Althought it seems that Monte Carlo historic rally could be more like jurney, in these competition are lot of participants whos main criteria and aim is to gain the best results.

Rallye Monte Carlo historique will last till February 4th.
